EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Name: Andrew Salter

Title: Creative Director

Location: Kansas City

Bio: I was raised in Hockeytown (Detroit, MI), where I learned strong work-ethic, determination, and how to be successful. My life revolved around playing sports year-round. My dad had me on a schedule of batting cages in the morning, basketball in the afternoon, soccer practice and then we played hockey at night. I wasn’t a huge fan of not being able to run around with my friends all day; but once I hit high-school and received the benefits (cool girlfriends), awards, athletic scholarships and traveling, I looked back and appreciated all of that hard work. I also tested out of many of my classes at school and spent time at a local college, being trained in commercial art. I moved to the East Coast and then the bitter cold of the North and then landed in Los Angeles. I spent a decade there, working on the production side of the music industry and honing my creative skills. I couldn’t go a morning without getting a surf session in and was very into extreme sports. Finally, I moved to Kansas City (I’ve replaced the ocean with a weight room) to be closer to family and became part of the Axiom family shortly thereafter.

What you do at Axiom/how you serve our clients: As Creative Director, I help to determine the creative vision of a brand or project and manifest that vision through digital, print and TV installations – while keeping that brand or project cohesive. I collaborate with the Director of Accounts and account executives to obtain knowledge of the clients’ requirements. Within a project, I help conceive and implement concepts, guidelines and strategies and oversee them to completion. I’m actively involved in hiring and training creative staff, while directing the team to help them use their talents effectively and run like a well-oiled machine – cranking out genius deliverables, meeting deadlines and impressing clients.

Your favorite political figure (past or present) & why: Abraham Lincoln. He was a man’s man who fought for what he believed in; a mover and shaker. He issued the Emancipation Proclamation and pushed through the 13th Amendment.

Why Axiom? Axiom oozes with experience, talent, efficiency and work-ethic. We also have the best leader that I’ve ever worked with steering our ship. It’s very rewarding to be good at winning, and it’s fun to be on the best team in the business.
