EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Name: Corben Waldron

Title: Associate

Location: Lincoln, NE

Bio: As a lifelong Nebraskan I got my start in politics interning for Governor Pete Ricketts 2014 campaign. A variety of campaigns, referendums, and ballot initiatives across Nebraska later I joined Axiom in the middle of the 2018 election cycle and have loved the opportunity to work with and learn from the best in the business on a daily basis.

Outside of the office, I spend my time golfing, skiing, watching Liverpool FC and the US Men’s National team, and cheering for all Nebraska sports despite a disappointing return on investment up to this point.

What you do at Axiom/how you serve our clients: As an Associate at Axiom my work day can consist of almost any facet of campaign operations including messaging, voter contact, digging into data, issue research and generally keeping our campaigns moving towards victory on Election Day.

Your favorite political figure (past or present) & why: I’d have to go with Henry Kissinger because of realist approach to international affairs. While people’s view on him run from hero to villain, it’s impossible to deny his opening of China was one of America’s great Cold War achievements. Love him or hate him, Kissinger was a leader in shaping the post-Cold War world we live in today.

What lessons have you learned from previous campaign cycles?  I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. There is hardly a dull moment on any campaign and you never know what’s going to happen today, tomorrow, or next week. Being prepared for anything means being on your toes and ready to respond to a challenge at all times. It’s what help makes campaigns exciting and rewarding but stressful at the same time.
