Bio: I joined AxMedia in 2018 with over 15 years of retail media buying experience for multi-million dollar accounts such as AutoNation, Chick-fil-A and Reliant Energy. The agility and hyper-focus required to steward several of those accounts at one time has served me well in the political sector. I have executed over 1,230 media buys for 54 campaigns in 44 cities, as well as nationally, during my time with AxMedia. I am proud to have been a part of the re-election of Ted Cruz to US Senate in my home state of Texas.
What you do at Axiom/how you serve our clients: As a Senior Media Buyer at AxMedia, I deliver media solutions and opportunities to our team of General Consultants. That process begins by researching voter and viewership data in order to evaluate the efficiency of various forms of media in reaching our target voter. I then negotiate the pricing and selection of specific programming within each medium. No two media plans are ever the same! Once a media plan is approved, it is my responsibility to execute the placement of a Candidate’s hard earned fundraising dollars with our media vendors. I stay in daily contact with those partners to ensure every opportunity to optimize the buy is achieved.
Fun fact: When I was 12 my aunt married into a prominent NFL ownership family. Thanks to their generosity I’ve experienced truly once in a lifetime experiences without ever having to make a compromising share deal. That’s a media buying reference that I may have to explain to make sense. Their work ethic and drive is awe inspiring. The times my entire immediate and extended family have spent together with them are my fondest memories to date.
What lessons have you learned from previous campaign cycles: Political advertising is the most nimble form of communication I’ve ever touched. More times than not I am coordinating with media partners to find the right solution to a candidate’s needs within a single work day. You must be ever ready to serve and bring your accuracy A game. Having a team willing and able to do the same in tandem with you is invaluable.
