EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Name: Shelby Lintz (Blake)

Title: Northwest Associate

Location: Tacoma, WA

Bio: I grew up in Portland, Oregon and attended Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington where I studied political science and pre-law. While in Washington, I had the opportunity to manage my first campaign. After graduating from Whitworth, I was trying to choose between a career in politics or pursuit of a law degree. To gain some insight and see if I wanted to go to law school, I went to work for a public defender’s office in Oregon. I held various jobs, last being an Alternative Sentencing Advocate, where I would research cases and find experts for trials. Although working in the criminal justice system was an eye opening experience, I found myself running campaigns on the side. Soon I left the public defender’s office and ran local campaigns full time.

Post campaign season, I went to work for the House Republican Caucus Office at the Oregon State Capitol in Salem, Oregon as the District Outreach Director. As DOD, I would work with each State Representative to help them connect with their constituents, ensure their votes were beneficial to their districts, and help manage their staff. The 2019 Oregon legislative long session came to a close and I quickly realized I missed my true passion, campaigning. I was fortunate to be hired onto the Axiom team in time for this historic 2020-election cycle.

What you do at Axiom/how you serve our clients: As an Associate, I fill in various facets of the campaigns we work with. Daily, I make sure that our campaigns have good organizational systems set up, tailored campaign messaging, and targeted voter contact plans. In addition,I work closely with our NW General Consultant and the larger Axiom team to create and implement strong strategic plans that pave a way to victory.

Fun fact about you: In true NW fashion, I was kicked out of a high school class for reading a book written by a Republican commentator.

What lessons have you learned from previous campaign cycles? It is important to be prepared for anything and everything. I have learned that no campaign runs smoothly and when issues arise you must get creative to find the best solution. Giving up is not an option and dedication to your work is key.
