EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Name: James Eller

Title: Research Associate, Cannon Research Group

Location: Charlotte, NC

Bio: After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I got my start in politics working with the NCGOP on the 2016 general election campaign –  a year that saw historic gains for the Republican party in my home state. After the election, I spent a year working on the Hill with the offices of Rep. Tom McClintock and the Republican Study Committee before joining Cannon Research Group in 2017. During my time with Axiom, my research has been used in Reed Award winning mail pieces, published in national news outlets, and has been utilized by clients to rebut false allegations.

What you do at Axiom/how you serve our clients: I serve our Axiom clients at Cannon Research by conducting opposition, vulnerability, and corporate research to identify problematic issues that will influence voters and consumers. Research is then provided to clients in a book format that is ready to be utilized in media spots or news pieces.

Fun Fact: I am an avid fan of shooting sports and compete in both modern and historic rifle and pistol matches.

Your favorite political figure (past or present) & why: Teddy Roosevelt – An adventurer and outdoorsman, I have always admired Roosevelt for his boldness and refusal to accept the easy path – both in life and in politics. Although his political ideology is not a great match for my own, I view him as one of America’s last great adventurers.
